I treat children
from infants to teens
at my home clinic in Old Woking
using East Asian Medicine.
I like childrens' treatments to be enjoyable and comfortable.
Throughout my life I've been drawn to take care of children from babysitting as a teen, being an au pair in Mallorca, a nanny in Paris,teaching English to children in Tokyo and now treating children with acupuncture. I am DBS checked to work with children.
A treatment starts with getting the child's health history including medications, illnesses, and diet. Depending on the age and sensitivity of the child I may use any of these techniques:
Shonishin - Japanese tool assisted therapy
Tui Na - therapeutic massage techniques
Cupping - suction cups to relieve symptoms
Moxabustion - heat applied to acupuncture channels and points
Press pellets - tiny balls of metal or seed
Intradermal needles or press tacks - micro needles
1 Hour First Session and Follow Ups: £50
30 Minute Follow Up: £35
I use gentle Japanese Shonishin to treat babies and young children. The acupuncture points are immature so I use light massage along with tiny acupressure beads.
Primary school aged children may need a little re-directing through Shonishin and Moxa. I have seen excellent results with conditions such as headaches or migraine; and I treat many other health niggles in this age range.
Once a child reaches 10, he or she is seen as an adult. The treatment techniques I use depend on the sensitivity of the child.
