Fertility

It is now very common for men and women with fertility issues to seek acupuncture treatment. A diagnosis in Traditional Chinese medicine for any health complaint is based on syndromes or patterns of illness.  Based on which patterns a person has, a treatment plan can be made to include acupuncture, cupping, moxabustion, dietary and lifestyle advice.

Women:  It can be useful for women to do basal temperature charting. These charts can be accesed online through various websites.

Men:  Avoid overheating the groin area: do not use laptop on legs, don't keep mobile phones in trouser pockets, wear loose pants to increase air circulation. Progress with male factor infertility can be monitored with regular semen analysis.

IVF, ICSI & IUI Support

In the UK it is common to seek acupuncture to complement IVF treatments. Standard treatments given before and after embryo transfer (Paulus Protocol) are well known. It is also recommended to have regular treatment throughout the cycle to help reduce stress and various symptoms while on medications.

The Nuffield Hospital is a 5 minute drive and 20 minute walk from the Holistic Health Centre so is a convenient place to get IVF support.
