Treating Children & Babies with Acupuncture techniques
With acupuncture and acupressure (Tui Na), babies and children can be treated for various health complaints. Symptoms tend to respond much more quickly in children than in adults. In Chinese Medicine, children over the age of around 10 are treated as adults. In the treatment, there must be a parent present until the child is 16 years old.
Tui Na - Chinese Acupressure
Babies and children under the age of 10 can be treated with Tui Na acupressure. In the clinic it is used on children who are unwell but may also be used as preventive or supportive. First a detailed case history is taken and a Chinese medical diagnosis is made. Points are then chosen to help reduce symptoms and increase the child's physical and emotional well-being. Parents and carers are also taught to use these techniques to help support the child. An initial treatment lasts 1 one and follow up sessions are 30 minutes.
Common reasons to get Acupuncture or Tui Na
Children may get ill suddenly or have health issues which do not get resolved. Chinese acupressure known as Tui Na can help ease symptoms and relax the child. It normally takes a series of treatments to make improvements in health.
